Meter Full Movie and story

Director: Ramesh Kadhuri
Writers: Ramesh Kadhuri, Suriya
Stars: Keshav Deepak, Kiran Abbavaram, Krishna Murali Posani

Review: Actor Kiran Abbavaram who has had a string of successful releases this year, had yet another release, Meter – there is no doubt he can act, fight and dance, but his prowess may not be enough to save this poorly-written police action drama. Ramesh Kaduri, who handled the film’s story, screenplay and direction, failed to make it impressive and engaging. The narrative and script, for the most part, screamed routine with stale tropes. While some dialogues land, the majority feel over the top and illogical, bordering on cringe. To top it off, the film has plenty of double-meaning banter. Despite its decent production values, music and cinematography, the film’s editing felt choppy and suffered from continuity issues. The characterisation of roles was routine and had nothing new to offer, and in fact, several characters imitated their hit mannerisms and dialogues from other movies.

Actress Athulyaa Ravi, who is making her Telugu debut, has nothing to do with the plot except serving as Arjun’s love interest. However, she did a decent job within her character’s limitations. Dhanush Pawan, who played the antagonist’s role in the film, did a commendable job with his overall demeanour and dialogue. Occasional humour generated by Sapthagiri as Arjun’s uncle and Posani Krishna Murali as Police Commissioner served as a saving grace.

The film had music by Sai Kartheek, cinematography by Venkat C Dileep, editing by Karthika Srinivas, production design by JV and dialogues by Ramesh Kaduri and Surya.

Overall, the film entertains in parts but mostly feels stale and unimpressive. Kiran Abbavaram and Dhanush Pawan give good performances. However, the writing needs more imagination and coherence.
